I don't use P2P so wouldn't have any idea if the throttling has changed but it certainly fits my old chestnut about a single 100/10 user seeding being the reason my own connection went to the dogs.

Have the hours of shaping been increased as well as the level though? If not why is overnight looking better too - I would have expected it to get worse as people shifted their download schedules.

For many people it happened in the middle of the day, usually between 12pm and midnight.

Because I had twenty different suspicious and couldn't be bothered explaining them all, when people are already set on their own ones anyway.

I don't know. People have accused VM of shaping outside the shaping hours and STM'ing outside STM'ing hours so I'm not entirely sure what hours of shaping are or what they're supposed to be.

The only person pretending to know so far as I can see was you. Now it turns out "knowing" was actually just "twenty different suspicious". Your posts really aren't worth reading anymore so I think I'll just put you on ignore to save my annoyance at the way you respond to people.

I don't see where I claim to have "known" the cause, all I did was agree with one other person's suspicions.

Re: Is it just me or has VM made some substantial network upgrades?

Looking at my ThinkBroadband ping monitor my pings have definitely dropped substantially recently.

This is good - I'm actually less tempted to cancel now.

Talking Re: Is it just me or has VM made some substantial network upgrades?

Ive never (touch wood) had ANY issues to bring my internet to a halt.

However, I do live in a small town where most people are using satellite, so I must not be sharing my connection with too many heavy users.

Good going VirginMedia! Looking forward to my doubled speed now

Re: Is it just me or has VM made some substantial network upgrades?

Something has definitely happened here (Watford) - TBB graph looks so much better recently, and speedtest results are spot on at the moment.

I have gone from 6 downstream channels to 4, speeds are fine. What the hell is going on?

When did this happen Risco? Did you reboot your PC and modem to ensure that the readings are correct?

Did you have an outage before the change? Could be a cable segmentation change so you now have fewer users sharing the 4 channels.
