Re: What annoys you about your job?
When I had an employer: Staff meetings about keeping customers happy. They took up too much of the time when we could have actually been calling on customers doing just that.
When self-employed: Customers phoning up and saying '"It's gone wrong again" in the hope I'd feel guilty and keep the price down. Looking at records showed it was a totally different fault to the last one and it was around 9 months or a year ago.
Now: Carer for my wife. Need I say more! (a labour of love really).

The p1$$ poor managment, the useless company procedures & the bosses failure to differentiate between the current price & the overall cost...
I.e. the current price of not getting me more RAM for my PC may be £30 but it will cost 1/2 hour a day in the time it takes my PC to do its job. (just an example).

I had a call to an old Hotpoint Top loader early last week and she insisted on mentioning the last repair I did on the machine, "it was definately you, you wrote the details of what you did on the back of the outer drum"...I took the back of and sure enough in my own inimitable scrawl was... 16/09/1984
Guess I didn't do a very good job the first time.

Know that feeling. I chose the arbitrary figures of 9 months to a year but it was often quite a bit longer and people would still use the 'gone wrong again' term. I used to wonder why it was that customers could seem to accept that many things can stop a car from working and that they'd have to pay up for every fault. Yet they would not expect to pay again if electrial/electronic equipment went wrong sometime after an initial repair, even if it was a totally different component that had caused the second fault.
There are an awful lot of compnents in electronic or electro/mechanical items that can cause the same effect, namely that the thing stops working. It was often difficult and sometimes impossible to get a fair rate of pay for fixing a second fault. Many couldn't seem to accept that the second fault was nothing at all to do with the first one and so they'd expect a free, or at least a less expensive, repair.

-Patients (and doctors) assuming that I have the same level of training as a masseur when I know more about the diagnosis and effective treatment of neuromusculoskeletal problems than their doctor (and often their consultant).
-Patients forgetting their appointments

Re: What annoys you about your job?
i mostly hate the fact that the management really dont give a toss at all, they dont care about their customers or anything they just want money, prime example - OUR admin team cancelled a customers line and account by mistake, the cust rang tech support and we had to explain that we had cancelled the account but the only way she could get back on line was to ring registration and re-register go back in to a 12 month contract n everything - it really wasnt on!!!!!

Re: What annoys you about your job?
Hey, if you think your job is bad then try this! I spotted them on Sunday. They haul themselves along the power lines in those little carts and knock out the spacers between them ready for when the cables are replaced. After the carts are lowered they have to climb across the insulators and down the pylon to the ground. The guy on the top was practically doing handstands and they seemed to have very little safety gear.

Re: What annoys you about your job?
Patients who have unrealistically high expectations of the treatment for their ailments. Or timewasters who appear to have nothing better to do.

I never get timewasters....private medicine prices discourage them. Haven't had a malingerer in my clincs in the 10 years I've been practicing.
