Re: Formula One Motor Racing

yeah already read that.. seems a strange way to leave the team argueing how to pay tribute to the sporting director who had died.. I remember reading last year how bernie was helping them find sponsors.. if they pull out then McLaren, Ferrari, Williams will have to run a third car to make up the grid so it's in everyones best interests to keep Minardi going.. hence the fighting fund idea from a few seasons ago

Re: Formula One Motor Racing

Button goes back to Williams

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/3540478.stm

or maybe not

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/3540970.stm

sounds like a good move to me and Williams have a very strong lineup for next year. Would have liked to have seen Mika or Jacques back for next year in a williams but button just as good.

Wonder who BAR will get now

Re: Formula One Motor Racing

Well IMO the move to Williams / BMW would be a very good move.

A Championship capable partnership in anyones eyes. Webber would be a superb stablemate.

Has to be said though the BAR team were doing a great job as well, but I didn't think powerful enough to grab the title next year. How could JB stay with BAR now ? ...... They must be mighty p*ssed at him ??

It's a little intangible until we know how changes to the regulations affect the relative performance of the cars, next season. However, based on current performance, I reckon he is making a mistake. Williams have not been competitive, so far, this season............

They are 4th behind BAR and lost Ralf recently.

Seems pretty competitive.

it's all relative - personally I don't feel Ralf has been an asset, this season - and, as you say, they are behind BAR - with McClaren rapidly improving??

- perhaps I should have said not competitive, enough - I just don't rate Williams, at the moment - and if Sato's engine didn't keep lunching itself, BAR would be even further ahead.....

Agreed...apart from MS I feel the latter part of this season will be quite exciting (well I hope so anyway !!).

BAR, Williams & McLaren baying at Schumi's heels Lets hope the Ferrari reliability gets a cold !

Cool Re: Formula One Motor Racing

Hakkinen to replace Button at BAR? according to this link this rumour was circulating before the Button move announcement.

I think lanten Jaw (DC) needs a kick up the **** as in most of the races this year he could have done better maybe its time for him to move from McLaren as he has become part of the McLaren pit fixtures.

Whats killing the audiance viewing is that MS is winning 99% of the time, putting your foot down when in front i dont consider racing, fighting your way through the field (dicing with the rest of the field) from a lower position i call racing & a worth while racing challenge especially when the result is a podium finish.

Re: Formula One Motor Racing

still fighting over JB at the moment. Would like to see Hakkinen and Villeneuve in the BAR next year with an even better car than this year.. can't see it happening but we can all dream..

Least the next race in Hungary looks like being the most open race of the season.. although knowing Shuey's like it will prob poor with rain and he will win the race by over a lap..

Anyone else think it's stupid that next year you get one set of tyres for the entire race but refueling is still there!!! Also what happens if you get a puncture or flat spot a tyre ?
