There's never too much bandwidth; it's always nice to have more.

full speed FTTC no longer has any advantage now VM is level with upload etc. The speeds seem solid most of the time.

Ping is better download is many times better and now upload is on the same level so really for £11 more then 76 meg fiber Virgin had me sold.

Agreed.. £47,99 is what I pay for 80/20 full speed and phone line. That will be £51,99 once the prise rise comes into effect
vs £57 for 300/20 and no phone line.

I've given notice to BT although my max has gone from 89/21 to 107/30 so I might well try it again in the future.

My pings are 9-15 when I do things, I am not someone who needs a low ping so the 25-30 I get on VM is fine.

Isn't Jitter worse on VM?

It is for me... VM does not seem to have the same sort of responsiveness than FTTC. It's almost like VM is stickier in it's performance. Yes there is raw speed. But I can personally tell the difference.

Yes. Repeatedly proven.

To be fair to VM though you could remove them from that statement and replace it with 'cable'.

Only time I've had jitter that matched xDSL was when I was the only person on the cable segment. Yes really. First person on my hub on DOCSIS 3.0 so sharing the bandwidth with no-one. The jitter and latency were flawless

Yeah if I am honest, unless someone had said to me about the jitter, I wouldn't have noticed. I've generally had nothing but good experiences gaming on VM (faults aside).

Me too, but I don't play anything that I can't play on 100ms + so to get 20-30 is good. I hit about 12 on FTTC

I get 130 ping to the west coast compared to 155 on my old 76 Meg FTTC connection and that's to the same server so that's why i just assumed it was better.

Odd
