I think there might be some confusion over the upgrade in speeds , from 1mg to 2 and 2 to 3mg . I used to work in NTL sales and the sheet shown earlier was an upsell sheet basically what NTL telesales can sell to make revenue , , this means that telesales would phone you and maybe offer you 1 month free to upgrade your speed , the idea being alot of people would keep the speed after the free month meaning more revenue for the company. That would be my reading of it anyway.

Will my modem support 10mb broadband

I currently have an NTL Silver modem, it's about 2yrs old, I am currently on 3mb broadband and am really looking forward to NTL 10mb broadband

But will my modem support the faster connection or will I have to upgrade my modem

I am sure I read somewhere that the NTL silver modem would support up to 10mb max, as I have seen NTL with the new small blue modems

Any answer would be great

Thanks

Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase

I personally would love the 10mb for amount of stuff I do online such as uploading mixes of non-copyright material of mixes of music I am making, and edits of family videos to relatives in the USA it would be be brilliant if my upload was good aswell right now I can barely hold 28kbs upload.

Re: Will my modem support 10mb broadband

I think the silver NTL Ambit modems have a rated top bandwidth of 34Mbps.

Re: Will my modem support 10mb broadband

Welcome to the forums Radeon.
The modems still have life in them yet and will be able to cope with the new speeds.

Re: Will my modem support 10mb broadband

Is there any indications which modems will and wont be able to take the 10mb. I have a Motorola Sufboard 4100 ( i think) and its about 5 years old now.
