No upgrade as yet in Nottingham, I'm in Daybrook and still on 4meg, I've re-booted my modem several times but it's still on 4meg.

I wouldn't have thought that's the case.
VM always start upgrades at a slow pace. Starting with a few test areas (which were done last year), then upgrades are rolled out to several areas which is what is happening now. If all things are ok, the upgrades will increase in frequency, so by the time it comes to June/July you'll have multiple areas done at the same time.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
hence the reason VM keep mentioning the summer alot, im starting to think its pointless checking my speed everyday, it'll be done when its done and im sure i will notice it too, only because i play alot of games so im always getting updates, add ons and demos from various sites.
although, i will deffinatly still post here if i get any news or get the upgrade, untill you get the upgrade u just gotta be patient i guess.

Well they have finally updated the upgrade page so now a few more places are showing as being upgraded in March and April, as usual the Leicester area will be near the end. Oh well, I always get a connection with the 4mb connection I have so I can afford to wait as it's free.

Don't forget you will still have to reboot the modem to see if it has been updated . Just thought i'd point this out as i don't post much. If you do not reboot then i don't think the speed will be updated for you to notice. I Suppose it is good practice to power down every night anyway.

This will be a rollout phase approach and should be complete end of summer, beginning end of february. Also plans to launch 50mb later in the year for existing 20mb (XL Customers).

Sorry man! not too sure
I can only guess as there are LOAAADS of broadband subscribers in the manchester area, and actaul performance in manchester is, according to reports here, quite dire. Then VM would leave it until later, its the biggest and hardest job, so if they learn from any mistakes from smaller areas being upgraded, they can minimise issues when implementing in manchester as it could affect more customers.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
there site said Nottingham March early this morning (change from TBC yesterday) then this pm the site went back to TBC? I am Nottingham NG4 and still on the 4mb (from a cold start, tried reboot nothing) I would have thought if ng5 is 10 then ng4 should be only about 2 miles away.
