Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

This might sound a silly question as I only found this place the other day and this thread yesterday.

But is the list the total list for the now to the end of summer upgrades or the ones they are currently working on in the next month or so?.

It's just that I'm in Liverpool and wrongly assumed that we would have been done by now lol.

Only any good if you have already been upgraded. The majority are still TBC and the last update was 2 weeks ago.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

There does seem to be some folk already on the upgrade though, that according to the schedule is still listed as "TBC". But the page hasnt been updated for over a FORTNIGHT now, so I suppose theres a lot that could have happened since then.

In some cases though they are not just slow...they are so slow they are going backwards. Last month Edinburgh was listed as 'Complete', but for a while now it's been 'TBC'. Would be nice if they kept the list updated bi-weekly and tried to get some target dates up for most areas.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

I dont remember the 20mbit upgrade, but so far is it following the same patterns? eg, the ones shown as "complete" just now were the same ones to first get the upgrade last time? If so bad news for rest of us Scots, cos' I think we were near the end.

I am in Lincoln, LN6 Area
Just shows what a waste of time the VM upgrade site is as that still says Lincoln is TBC

erm, if only some of the area has been done, wouldn't that explain it?

Timing is everything. I can't wait to get the upgrade so that the change in the delivery of service (i.e. slowed down by Phorm hardware) is less perceptible.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

I'm in Liverpool and re-set my modem yesterday and still on 4meg. I've obviously wrongly assumed that Liverpool and the surrounding area to be 1 of the first areas to be done due to the size of the cable availability in Merseyside.

It's like waiting to move from dial-up to broadband all over again lol.

Just down the road from you in Widnes and we were among the very last to be upgraded from 2mbt 4mb, so don't hold your breath.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

Have they stopped the upgrade altogether? There have been no update on VM's page since the 29the Feb and the CS people seems no wiser as to if it is still going on or not. May be VM's hit a snag and the program has been shelved.

Slightly out of topic but I guess they will also upgrade the M users later on. Anyone has some info on that?
