I think it's just a question of when rather than if.

Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
Just want to say................................
I`ve had NTL Broadband Internet,Telephone and Television for quite a few years now and apart from the odd glitch, Everythings been GREAT!
Every now and then i have to reset the stb and CS are sooooooo much better than they used to be!
Thanks for the free speed upgrade a short while ago, i hear the Modems dialling in at work sometimes to send an Estimate or a Supplementary Estimate to the Insurance companies that we deal with and i cringe!
Thank you to all who work for NTL and have provided me with such good service, and for your help in your free time to help us "Useless" ones with problems here in this Forum..
Thank you.

they may upgrade the 1mb users to 3mb but there's no guarantee the upload will increase to 300. they'll probably only increase it if it needs to be for technical reasons.

Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
When we had the recent increases in speed I chose to go to 1mb as my box could not handle the 2 and I didn't want to change my box, so when all this comes in to effect does that mean all the boxes the same as mine will be no use?

Re: ntl Confirms 10Mb Broadband Speed Increase
Hey guys.. (first post - what better topic to start on! w00t!!)
Does anyone have any stats/ideas on how much online "gaming" contributes to one's max download limit per month?
On a side note...
I'm welcoming the 10mps with open arms as it's significantly faster than my current ntl 3mbs. But am *really* looking forward to some nice upload increase as well. Mainly cos I play online games, at the moment it's BF2. And I usually host a Skype session between mates to chat during the game (we dont like the ingame voip and prefer the easy of skype).
However, hosting a 4+ conference on Skype simply kills the current upload bandwidth while playing BF2. So, according to the BBc link, if NTL is doing this in response to the increased demand for high capacity online multimedia usage, (listed was voip) I assume they have taken into account the need for higher upload speed and not just killer downloads...
