Re: World Cup 2006 Thread
i thought telling the ref to send players off was a bookable offense? granted, he should've been sent off, but still...

What a great game the Argentina v Mexico game is. Mexico have given it a good go, especially after the way they played in the group.
Argentina should not have had that goal disallowed though.

Re: World Cup 2006 Thread
don't the commentators realise how dumb they sound? castro was booked for kicking the ball away, it had nothing to do with the foul that torrado was NOT going to be booked for

Re: World Cup 2006 Thread
What a game! Argentina the deserved winners, given that Heinze was allowed to stay on the pitch. I wasn't very impressed with Mexico during the group stages, but they sure turned up tonight. The match of the tournament so far...

Yes it was a fantastic game, Argentina deserved the win in the end.
Riquelme was pure class once again !
I have a feeling the Germans won't be looking forward to their next game.

The Germans had also improved from their group games as well. It should be an interesting match.

True about Sweden. I don't think that the Germans will be a walk over though.

Nope, the Germans are never a walkover. I do fancy Argentina for that match though.

Re: World Cup 2006 Thread
Great game between Argentina and Mexico.
Mexico did not perform that well in the group stages, but they did look quite lively in their final game against Portugal. So you could argue that they were in the ascendancy, having said that, I still didn't think they would cause the Argentinians as many problems as they did. What Mexico did do well, was to press the Argentina players when they had the ball. If you stand off Argentina, they will hammer you with their passing. The Germans will definately have picked up on that, and with the home support behind them, they will do that for sure. It should be a cracking game.

Re: World Cup 2006 Thread
Sounds like I missed a good game, I saw the Germany- Sweden game and thought they looked good, it's not their fault Sweden did not turn up, I think it's a shame that this game should have been Henrick Larrson's last on the big stage, he deserved better

I have tipped Argentina since the start but I think they will be in for a tough game and it would not surprise me if they lost, in fact I think the winners of this game will win the whole thing.

Re: World Cup 2006 Thread
was i the only one who noticed, that, while 50 minutes of the game was great, almost all of the second half and extra time was really boring?
