Nice to see someone got the full amount. I got my upgrade a few days ago (in Stafford) but the best I've managed has been 5.5 ,more normally the high 4s.
Still, it beats what I was getting previously. As I said in an earlier post, when I had a months trial of 10Mbs ,5ish was what I got then.

I was just wondering when Watford was going to be upgraded. I see on the VM site it just says 'Watford area' but then just specifies Amersham & Aylesbury as being completed
I'm only on 2mb and it's so slow I am contemplating upgrading if it's now 10Mb in Watford

Just run the speedtest.net test twice & got
VM Website says Wearside TBC...
Interestingly, the Speed Test at the top of this page shows...

Test 1: 1024K took 1578 ms = 648.9 KB/sec, approx 5347 Kbps, 5.22 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 2141 ms = 478.3 KB/sec, approx 3941 Kbps, 3.85 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 2344 ms = 436.9 KB/sec, approx 3600 Kbps, 3.52 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 4672 ms = 438.4 KB/sec, approx 3612 Kbps, 3.53 Mbps
Overall Average Speed = approx 4125 Kbps, 4.03 Mbps
Oh well, it would have been nice.....

I think you might find you have been upgraded, just not very well.Check your modem.Mine certainly shows an upgrade, but the best speeds I've achieved using the same test have averaged at 5.5.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
Hi cleshe,
I got a new modem from VM around December.
Its a Virgin badged 255, which I think is compatible with 10Mb, according to VM website.
I'll check the modem settings later tonight...

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
Just checked my modem config. The max downstream speed is 4096000 and the max upload speed is 400000. So I guess I haven't had the upgrade yet..

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
I'm in Portsmouth, no upgrade yet.
The Virgin upgrade schedule is the place to watch. Six areas marked as Complete so far, mine not among them. Guess I'll just have to wait.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
That upgrade scedule is a pile of *****.
It hardly ever gets updated, and when it does, it usually says it was upgraded 4 days before it actually was (on the say it was updated)

The list shows Coventry and Stafford as completed. However on the newsgroup, there are still some complaints from both areas that it isn't so, and the techs are admitting that at least one UBR has not been updated yet(whatever that is).

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
I'm in wallasey (im guessing this is the baguley area) and i called up virgin not so long ago to ask about upgrading to 20mb (as it appeared to be £20 a month on thier website, i later found that this is for new customers who are also taking Virgin phone) but during this conversation virgin said my area will be done by the second week in march, im still waiting but fingers crossed im hoping it will be in the next couple of days.
i shall be speed testing alot this week, if i get the upgrade ill post the results, if not, i wanna know why they are telling me these things on the phone!!
it might be an idea, if your waiting for the upgrade, to just ask them about the pricing of the 20mb and see if you can get info out of them about your upgrade to 10mb.
it all seemed to me as if they were scared i would go looking to another company, and quickly told me when i would be upgraded, whether or not they have lied to me, remains to be seen!
