I remember going up there during the old southern league days which used to be good, but it will be sad to see them lose their league status, the club is being run by a bunch of muppets so it is time for a big clear out in my opinion, if it remains in existance that is.

Re: [Merged] Football talk
Surprise, Surprise. The student who said Rooney decked him has withdrawn his complaint.
Quote:
Today a spokesman for Rooney said the allegations had been "a fabrication from start to finish''.
He said: "We are entirely unsurprised that Mr Hanrahan has retracted his allegations.
"They were a fabrication from start to finish presumably timed to create a distraction in the run-up to an important England game.''
The striker's lawyers are still considering whether to take legal action against the student and The Sun.

Re: [Merged] Football talk
how well does everyone think we will do tonight..
poland beat Azerbeijan 8-0 but I don't think we will have as much luck.. I read that as they lost 8-0 they will be playing with alot of their Under 21 squad instad as they don't have much to loose.. i think we might get 3 or 4-nil
strange comments from Sven that he can't understand why people are criticising Beckham.. maybe he hasn't been watching the last few England games..
he also said he would be happy with 1-0.. i wouldn't.. in the long run could be better for England to exit the WC early then Sven might get the sack

Just listen to the Azer's national anthem, it's enough to make you lose the will to live.

Re: [Merged] Football talk
N Ireland Nil were beat again. What's the point in having a national team that has no hope of ever winning or scoring for that matter? The sooner they merge with the south of Ireland the better.

I must have imagined the 5 goals scored by Northern Ireland so far in the World cup qualifying then.
Should Wales merge with England? After all Wales are currently below Northern Ireland in the table.
We don't do too badly for a country with a population of 1.6 million, we still hold the record as being the smallest nation to reach the World Cup quarter finals.
The main thing holding back a united Ireland football team is that the Irish FA and the Football Association of Ireland would also have to merge, something I just can't see happening.

Don't think Shearer one is an April Fool, just watched a press conference on it.
