Re: Major TiVo Update
Ahhh right, only noticed them this past week or so.
My box rebooted itself in the early hours of this morning, afterwards it was going like lightening. It was like when I first got TiVo; when I pressed a command it did it straight away and the new screen loaded instantaneously.
Hope this continues.

Re: Major TiVo Update
I saw a report on the VM-forum of someone's series links being randomly reorganised, the same happened to me on Sunday.
They're very deliberately organised into terrestrial-HD, terrestrial-non-HD, oft-repeated etc etc, so as to prioritise clashes. I've got about 330 series-links and a good 30 had got pushed way down the list.

Is there not an option to re-order your series links? What happens if you press the yellow button? Prior to the update this enabled you to select alphabetical or date order. Maybe there are more options after the update?

It's not going to work like that. It will be like the superhub 3. New customers will start to get them in drips and drabs this year

Re: Major TiVo Update
Virgin Media haven't officially announced what options there will be for the next STB. Until they do anything is speculation.

Yellow doesn't do anything obvious - but these aren't done in any predefined order in my case. They're done with less-repeated stuff/terrestrial at the top of the list, and oft-repeated 4-Seven/Discovery etc at the bottom. Basically a deliberate attempt to prioritise tuner clashes in the interests of programs that need it.

Roll-out of the new software started today . Preston, Southport and Wearside were the chosen ones.

So it should be with all of us within three weeks, then. I hope my box manages to withstand it! I don't want to lose the huge number of recordings I'm trying to get through before the new box arrives (allegedly around Christmas!).

Without having to re read through 20 pages of this thread, what does this update actually do? Better speed??

Re: Major TiVo Update
The main updates are:
Series Link+ which gathers recordings and on demand content together, along with some improved options in how the Series Link+ logic works.
Improved On Demand menus which make it easier to find new on demand content.
Improvements to the core system and fixes for previous know issues - for instance the Dolby Digital optical issue is now resolved.
