Re: Changing From Ntl
Ok I am leaving ntl now and the following happened. Made a more detailed post on adslguide but more tired now.
Rang BT asked for new phoneline at new propery, got told ok but during credit check they got error saying live line at property cannot proceed with order, after some haggling I got the provider which was bulldog.
Something clicked in my head at this time realising LLU is superior.
Rang bulldog to see what going on with line they started by saying nothing available until june, then when I told them about the live line they had a poke on their systems but ended up saying they need the phone # which I obviously dont have so the best solution was to ring them back when I am in the property from the line.
Rang BT again to see if 2nd guy say same thing since I find it odd that (a) a live line where noone living there (b) I seen the property and only phone line was ntl and (c) bulldog say no services until june.
Bt this time said it was flat above my property same building but during credit check again their systems flipped saying live line, this time the guy caught on and realised the system wasnt recognising seperate flats and just whole building so he overode it and we finished the order, something clicked in my head halfway thru this that I couldnt switch to bulldog for 12 months so I asked if I could cancel and I can anytime before install date so I let it finish.
Install date 9 june which was very dissapointing bear in mind adsl a week or so after.
Rang bulldog again after reading their website now knowing I dont need an existing BT line they will fit if needed. This time got told the same nothing until june so cant do order not even in pending status, also they couldnt tell me specifically when in june.
Thats where I am now a order with BT due to be installed 9 june.
I will now probably cancel the BT order and wait till 1 june and try bulldog. I know from a friend they connect adsl same time as the phone so at least no lead time between them and hopefully its early june. Not to mention I want to avoid bt ipstream and get on llu.
Originally I was going to go with nildram if on bt ipstream.
