That article actually states that LG will be launching a few QD sets but to compliment their other range including OLED of which they will be launching new ones at a cheaper price than last year.

To complement their "existing" OLED... We all know demo units at CES does not equate to actual products on the shop floor anytime soon, despite what the PR department claim. After all OLEDs have been all the rage at CES since 2007 and we still only have one model available at mainstream UK retailers.

Not sure what you are on about qas. You stated that "There will not be any new OLED TVs this year." when clearly there will be, in fact it's one of the main talking points for CES. And there's hardly only one model available from last year, there are 2 x 55" 1080ps, 65" 4k and 77" 4k models all in stock at richer sounds right now.

Richer sounds has a grand total of two stores in this country and with the nearest being 125 miles away I would hardly call them mainstream.

As for talking points for CES, perhaps you need a reality check. Please re-read my last message. TVs that were the main talking point at CES four years ago still aren't available to buy.

Richer Sounds are a big company, just not in Scotland right this moment.

However Currys do sell at least three of those models too.

For the third time, they've been "planning on releasing" OLED TVs since I was a teenager... I'm still waiting...

Richer Sounds are a big company, just not in Scotland right this moment.

Indeed, their nearest store in Scotland is barely larger than the size of the iPhone section in your average Carphone Warehouse.

However Currys do sell at least three of those models too.

Two of which are completely out of stock across the whole UK and the third has no availability in any of my 3 nearest Currys stores. And that was the one announced in 2011.

Regardless, no matter how many small exceptions you pick out, the availability of OLED TVs has proven to be far short of that boasted about at CES year after year.

Epson announced three OLED TVs in 2004, claiming they would reach mainstream commercialization by 2007.
LG also announced their first OLED TV in 2004. Samsung released a 40" one in 2005. The same year NEC claimed OLED would be a major player by 2011 at the latest.

Sure LG plan on "releasing" more TVs this year. Like they did at CES 2009. Then again at CES in 2010.. And then again at CES 2011. Along with Mitsubishi. And again in CES 2012. As did Samsung. And re-released the same TV again at 2013. And again at CES 2014.

They must have re-announced a dozen OLED TVs at CES four or five times now yet have barely able to bring just one to market. And the 77" 4K OLED they showed off in 2013 is still not available to buy.

Remember though there are two seperate LG companies. The display company that actually design and manufacture the panels and the actual retail company.

So whilst its probably been the Display company showing off their new tech and what they can do with said tech. Its a totally different matter if the retail company won't to build a product and take it to market.

However regarding this years CES I do believe we will see some new and hopefully cheaper products that will come to retail this year.

Also having used RS in Glasgow many times it isn't the biggest store but they are very helpful and have made the store bigger over the last 2 years.
