Re: TiVO deleting my programmes

BBC One HD, ITV HD have been affected so far for me, plus all suggestions. Nothing in any logs accessible to me the customer that suggests that anything needed to be deleted. I did have my shows set to "keep until space needed" and up to 10 shows. With a max disc use of 55%, on the standard 550GB TiVo there was no need for any "space needed" deletions, other than cleaning already deleted stuff and potentially suggestions.

I'll have to see if setting my series link preferences and any already recorded programme to not delete unless I request makes any difference. Interestingly, if one looks at the retention option on stuff already recorded, it suggests a date and time stamp of tommorrow as the retention, if you accept that rather than don't delete.

I tend to keep my drive pretty full as well

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes

Can anyone at Virgin Media confirm that this problem is being dealt with?

If you look on the virgin media help and support forums there is a thread regarding this issue. They have given it a fault reference of NKE00002749. Lets hope they sort it soon!

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes

I had a similar problem with programs being deleted when my box wasn't full. I had loads of series links saved even though these series had ended so I deleted them and since then programs haven't deleted.

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes

This was happening to me when I had TiVo. I just assumed it was an accepted issue as nobody ever seemed to mention it. I would just go into everything I recorded thereafter and update the status of each recording not to delete until I delete.

Not a problem I've had with SKY. With only 250Gb of hard drive space, you tend to watch stuff pretty snappy

Is there a fix coming?

I'm getting hacked off with recordings disappearing right after they've recorded!

have you changed your channel package.. i downgraded and found that it still records some series links on channels no longer subscribed, but then tivo deletes them immediately the recording finishes

Re: TiVO deleting my programmes

No, not changed channel package. The Tivo is only 51% full. There were 2 programmes getting recorded and when I look in recording hiccups, it's saying the episodes have expired and have been deleted?!

Very annoying.

Give the VM Faults team a call. Dial 151 if you have a VM phone line, otherwise 0845 454 1111.

The fix according to the VM forum is to reboot the box, have you tried that?

God, I couldn't cope with that! My 1 TB TIVO box is consistently almost full!

I expect that you are coping with having to watch a huge number of advertisements for programmes you watch on the linear channels. I really couldn't go back to that, it would drive me mad! I haven't watched an advertisement in ages.

Is it really that simple? I always do this before reporting a fault or stressing on these forums!

As they advise witheringly on the IT Crowd: "Have you tried switching it off and switching it on again....?"
