Osem i know it is always so easy to blame "bad parenting" but thats a generalisation and doesn't acknowledge the fact that for whatever reason we have a growing number that seem to think cruelty and bullying is the answer. Sorry i really cannot see any parent telling their kids this sort of thing is ok and more likely this stems from a minority of just out and out thugs influencing other kids to do likewise. Sadly there are many kids these days to whom being part of any group no matter how bad is better then being alone and good.

I know this isn't a simple equation and I'm certainly not claiming that every child thug is entirely the result of defective parents. However, parental example/influence is the biggest factor in a child's early development and when it's lacking or, worse still, negative it's not surprising that those affected get into trouble. It's not about parents telling their kids it's OK to be a thug, it's more about kids who have had no positive guidance from their parents at all and been so emotionally neglected that they don't have the sensibilities and moral benchmarks that most of us take for granted.

Unfortunately, there really are parents who DO tell their children it is OK to think cruelty and bullying is the answer, because they are using the same tactics themselves. It is a lazy parent who uses these tools to raise a family and they are less likely to care when it all goes wrong.
From what i have seen where i live good parents who always had the time and put it in with their kids are pulling their hair out because their kids now teens are out more then they are in and seem to be unduly influenced by the local **** element. I have experienced it myself with my son and know how easily it seems to happen and how hard parents have to work to counter it even slightly and it is a long frustrating process. If we had a system that dealt properly with that very tiny minority that are out and out bad and they were not seen to be cool because they are able to play the system it would be a massive help to many many parents in this country.
Yeah, only white people go to jail .
Do you know 27% of the prison population is made up from ethnic minorities compared to ethnic minorities making up 8% of the general population.
Don't let facts get in the way of you making glib statements though.
