Of course seeing it's from the Sun it must be lies. The suspect has never been in prison, he wasn't wearing a tag and was only in the supermarket to buy cakes for his church choir practise.
Glad to see you are finally seeing some posters viewpoint when it comes to the Pun

Re: Mistaken 'queue-jumper' killed.

Isnt britain now not one big prison with a very small minority trying to live a decent and civil life in what mounts to an almost impossible task where respect for others is nothing short of close to extinction, or has it just allways been like that and that its getting worse is just a misconception of mine ?

Re: Mistaken 'queue-jumper' killed.

We all know quite well what this country's becoming & no one`s prepared to step up to the plate & do something about it. I`m 57. This guy could well have fought wars for this country, only to die under the knuckle of some low life idiot. I hope he gets life & a good hiding whilst inside.

But we all know thats not going to happen. Don't we.

I just wish some government (I don't care which it is) would actually build some more prisons as they were warned they should many years ago.

Re: Mistaken 'queue-jumper' killed.

As far as i know Coggy they are in the process of being built well at least a couple but as usual it went to the company that put in the lowest bid and will end up being the most exspensive and take the longest to complete overall. Personally i would be happy to see enough prisons built for 250,000 and then we should be ok for a few years but we will continue to do it on an ad hoc basis never having sufficient capacity.

But yet again it's a case of too little too late.IF the government of the time has responded to the situation instead of putting matters on the backburner which seems to be the case with successive governments as well, perhaps we wouldn't be in this ridiculous situation of having to release prisoners far too early. Now the building of prisons is even more expensive than it would have been in the first place.

Short termism yet again.

Coggy, What government of ours has ever put the people it represents first instead of lining it`s own pockets?
The world over critisises( spelling) other countries for their corrupt governments but ours is no different to theirs!
When will we get somebody in power that will say, " You work hard, you work your nuts off so we`ll reward you. No, They say" we`ll tax the hell out of you so we can own 2 homes or more and use your money to furnish them"

Well maybe it's more to do with the fact that so few people actually turn up to the voting booths. The fact that we fail singularly to go and see our MP's face to face and tell them how shoddy they are. That we are so party driven in our politics. If we voted for the individual rather than the party maybe things might change.

Maybe...I'm absolutely certain though that IF we the public were the ones who voted on MP's wages, expenses and pensions that the hangers on and uncle Tom and all would be shown the door.

Perhaps MP's wages should become cost productive like they have for most people in the country.

And pigs will fly.

Re: Mistaken 'queue-jumper' killed.

Problem is also one of if they build more prisons at a time when they are saying crime is falling it will make the average person think for a minute and we all know how politicians hate us thinking about anything they do. What we have now thanks to many many incompetant politicians is a system where it is routine to not only sabotage an unpleasant statistic but to then go on any media outlet they can and promote the statistic thus making it harder and harder tio actually solve a problem which officially ceased to exist as the statistics say it is falling. How much more of this will be tolerated i am not sure because slowly the electorate is waking up and more importantly wising up. I have to say in that regard thank god for gordon brownshirt because that man has done more to wake many from their slumber then any incumbant before him such is his incompetence and continual need to repeat his idiocy at all times.

Re: Mistaken 'queue-jumper' killed.

Well to be absolutely fair and scrupulous it isn't all down to Brown..It's been the fault of successive governments and he hasn't had enough time to even address the issue(though Blair certainly did).

Re: Mistaken 'queue-jumper' killed.

I know this sounds petty, but why do the papers feel the need to give it a label (supermarket rage). This, in my opinion, seems to be trying to glamourise what is basically unnecessary violence.

Re: Mistaken 'queue-jumper' killed.

I think sometimes silly titles are given to things that are just so mind blowingly unbelieveable as a way to somehow rationalise it into something that can be understood and make sense. I dare say some on here would say it is to simplify it for tabloid reader's.

What a country we're living in, no respect for anyone or anything.
Indeed, thats why we need to become the 51st state. A real Police FORCE that can and does act and real justice be it death or a long long stretch in prison.

Well what a little american convert you've become vlad maybe you would be better off living in the states full time and then you wouldn't have to spend precious time trying to get us to vote to be part of the US like that is ever going to happen.

I wouldn't say i was a convert. I'm just trying to encourage and facilitate some free thinking. I am not so niave as to even think that HM Government bothers much with any e-petition. Of course they just brush them aside, even the serious ones, for they know they can trample on the UK populace and do as they wish, even more so when so many of them are so lacking in motivation to even raise a voice of dissent. I am also currently promoting an e petition to challenge the congestion charge in Manchester. Would you care to sign..?
