I personally hope it's something unexpected but very cool. The idea of it being 'important' suggests it more than simply another version of the console of which they updated recently. Not likely to be a major game as it's Bill Gates introducing it. I suspect a new service or function.

I am hoping for more news on Microsoft Home Server, I would like to hear them show a commitment to further and frequent development. The potential for it excites me! I envision storing all my media on there and then having access to it from any device and computer in the home.

Already have this for videos in my current house, all stored on one computer, but this allows better management, a server would be dedicated so most investment would be made in additional hard-drives, would also allow a raid set up to secure the media better, an obvious problem with trying to move all your media onto a digital format.

Im sorry, but this is the very person who slated everything about the PS3 including all off the features. And your having a go at me?

No doubt we will get asked to get back on topic, but it really riles me when you get a person like this.

Also, I have never posted negative comments about any console. I stick by the Ps3, as its my console of choice and I hate it when people start spreading false rumours or lies. Unlike some on here who constantly have hate for other consoles for no reason what so ever.

I have intrrest in the 360 and will likely buy an Elite this year sometime to go with my PS3, so might hold of if this Ultimate is true, all though it will be a bit pointless coming with a HD DVD now as its not used for games and in my opinion, I cant see HD DVD lasting much longer. I just find it strange why one box has it all and its crap and the other box now (not yet) has it all and its the next coming.

Scream all you want, its the truth and can be seen in past posts. If more people started acting like adults and their age, then there would be no reason for me to post on the subject.

Neon may have said it all wasn't needed on the PS3 but if Microsoft did provide everything in on console then thats a good thing as they still provide consoles with different features ie the Arcade, Pro or Elite then if there was a full on Ultimate then all the better. Sony gives you one choice and that all! Doesn't mean any of us would get one.

It wasnt childish and if you find it childish, it speaks volumes of what you think. Its a fact of what said person thinks of the PS3, it isnt about choice at all, as you would simply just not buy one. Im stating that what has been said in the past about PS3's features, and now in the present, they might becoming to the 360, its th next coming.

You may find it childish, doesnt take away its fact.

There was no reason for you to post on the subject, We were trying to having a topic about the possible news for the 360 and you came on and made a jibe at another member that was uncalled for. No one mentioned anything to do with the PS3. The only one acting like a child here is you.

Im not a fanboy of anything, I buy what I find is more attractive to me and buy the rest later. I dont think i will be buying a Wii though and if I do want a go, I will just borrow my sisters.

Anyway, Other than the HD-DVD enabled xbox (which isnt as certain as it seems), what else could this be?

To be honest, I dont know. I cant see it being the HD DVD as it is not used for games and never will be on the 360 and with the recent news about Warner Bros going Blu-ray, I have a hard time believing it is that.

Me-too. Although it's still quite early, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD make up only a few % of disc sales so there is still a fight to win and this might help the HD-DVD group. For the games, they could release it on HD-DVD and DVD. One disc can contain both formats with the HD-DVD spec. But to be honest, no one is going to develop gig worth more content. The price of development is high enough.

Incidentally, This will be Bill Gates last CES keynote. I hope they give him a good send-off

I can gaurantee games wont be made on HD DVD as one, they dont need to be as you can just have 2 DVD's, and two, it would be to expensive to develop on both formats.

People aren't saying the PS3 is rubbish or slagging it but just that Sony only do one version of the console where as Microsoft are giving you a choice, now if this news was about a new Ultimate console then people still have the choice of the basic Arcade console. Sony don't have anything like this that is all nothing less nothing more.

Now I am not a 360 fanboy as I own both consoles and have always bought every console around. But simply put the 360 is a better console at the moment due to the range and quality of games and its online service. Maybe in 6-12 months the PS3 will start to become better but at the moment it really doesn't offer anything better than the xbox.

I think you need to read certain peoples posts, mainly NEONKNIGHT and TheBlueRaJa, to see that they have called the PS3 rubish, to them it was never about certain version of consoles, they just slagged it of and one of the slagging it got was you dont need Blu-ray etc etc. I was pointing out that NEONKNIGHT was now been hypocritical to now have his fingers crossed that the stuff not needed on the PS3 might be coming tot he 360. This isnt opinion, its actually fact. I found it intresting how someone could be so hypocritical.

In your opinion it doesnt offer anything better, some people think it does, or if not better similar/same or different.

Back on topic. Its great to see Microsoft giving the consumer more choice if the speculation and rumours are to be believed. I'm hoping that Microsoft will also make an announcement on ditching the DRM or a least finding a better way of content protection.
