Re: £10 charge for missed callout

well sky phoned me before turning up and for deliveries i can rely on neighbors or friends but when its a fault on something you mostly need to be there one to tell them exactly whats wrong and two to make sure they fix it or arrange to do so ( lol could tell you some stories about how important that is with Packard bell computer technicians )

i don't worry about it if they don't charge but as soon as they go down that route then they have to be more helpful on when they will be there

may be we should get some standard letters and or sections to read out about charges for them not turning up

dont be daft... why would they increase the amount of service calls deliberately by carding customers and billing them and make people wait longer due to a repeat 2nd visit for an engineers visit would upset customers, so that is un true.

Re: £10 charge for missed callout

I was booked for an engineer to come out before christmas to look at a faulty ntl box and was told I would be charged £10 if I wasnt in, I booked the day off work and to no surprise he didn't call.

So I rang NTL and demanded £10 from them to credited to my account, because HE didn't show, I was credited £10 onto my bill. In the end didn't even need an engineer, alls I needed to do was speak to a NTL Call Advisor in UK not India, those are useless, they can't understand you issue and alls they ever wanna do is tell you to reset your hardware or raise a ticket for a call back within 48 hours, which NEVER happens.

I hope that OFCOM brings out some new laws with reguards to telecomunications companies because they are all really slacking, having worked for O2, I know just why they are slacking, pure laziness.

Late tech or early tech = £5 credit, tech no show = £10 credit.

I've always applied this, the charge works both ways afaik.
