Using a videosender may be convenient but there are also many disadvantages.
Videosenders can only transmit one channel at a time. Consequently, all TVs in a house have to watch the same channel. On the other hand, a cable can carry many channels at the same time. This allows all TVs to tune to any terrestrial channel or the one channel that the STB is decoding.
Many Pace STBs use a proprietry infra-red protocol that is not supported by most videosenders. The exception to this is the Digisender Gold series. Unless you use one of these, or a DigiEye (expensive), you wont be able to change channels remotely. Admittedly, you have a similar problem with a cable but at least, in this case, you can chose between any terrestrial channel and the one cable channel.
Videosenders transmit on low power in the 2.4GHz ISM band. This may interfere with other equipment (eg wireless LAN) and may suffer interference. The weak signal may be effected by people walking about the room.
Picture and audio quality through a videosender is much poorer than through a cable.
Videosenders do not encrypt the signal. You may not want your neighbours to see what you are watching
IMHO, if you can afford the hassle, using a cable is much better.
