Powers excited by twin Cup assault.
http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...=&sub=&day=Wed
Quote:
Paddy Power is not making a call between his mother Sabena's two runners in Saturday's Darley July Cup.
The bookmaking family will take both their Royal Ascot-winning sprinters to Newmarket at the weekend, with the younger Slade Power shorter in the market as he attained his first Group One win over six furlongs in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
Veteran Sole Power, who carries the first colours, is a five-furlong specialist and retained his King's Stand title last month.
Paddy Power said: "Slade Power is very straightforward and in great form.

De Sousa delights in Cavalry charge.
http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...e&sub=&day=Thu
Quote:
Silvestre de Sousa found himself back in the limelight in the Godolphin blue as he gave Cavalryman a brilliant front-running ride to win the Princess of Wales's boylesports.com Stakes at Newmarket.
De Sousa has been marginalised in recent weeks but showed yet again that his talent still burns brightly.
The race was supposed to be a stepping stone for Sir Michael Stoute's Arab Spring to confirm himself on the big stage after his Royal Ascot handicap success, but he was ultimately disappointing back in fourth.

Re: Horse Racing
Integral dazzles in Falmouth.
http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...e&sub=&day=Fri
Quote:
Royal Ascot heroine Integral clinched a first Group One victory with an impressive display in the Qipco Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket under Ryan Moore.
The Cheveley Park-owned and -bred filly claimed the Duke of Cambridge Stakes in Berkshire last month and despite encountering more testing conditions on the July Course, she was the 15-8 favourite follow up. Last year's 1000 Guineas heroine Sky Lantern, behind Integral at the Royal meeting but expected to improve, was sent into the lead early on by Richard Hughes and set only a moderate gallop for the first half of the mile contest.
Clive Brittain's Rizeena, another Ascot winner having claimed the Coronation Stakes, and Integral were never too far off the pace and moved up to dispute the lead as Sky Lantern disappointingly weakened out of shot. It was soon evident Integral had far more to give than her younger opponent, however, and after switching to the stands' rail in the final furlong, she had plenty in the tank to hold her at bay by two lengths.

Lynam targets Aussie Power play.
http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...e&sub=&day=Sun
Quote:
Eddie Lynam is keen to give Slade Power the chance to stamp himself the world's best sprinter in Australia later this year after he continued his fantastic summer with a brilliant display in the Darley July Cup at Newmarket.
Given a nice lead into the race by Spanish raider Noozhoh Canarias on the far side of the track, Wayne Lordan's mount was ridden to lead entering the final furlong and was well on top as he passed the post a length and a half clear.
Tropics, a 66-1 outsider, ran a massive race to fill the runner-up spot for Dean Ivory, with the John Gosden-trained Gregorian finishing strongly to grab third ahead of American runner Undrafted.

Superlative effort from Hannon ace.
http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...e&sub=&day=Sun
Quote:
Richard Hannon further strengthened his already formidable juvenile squad as Estidhkaar looked every inch a Classic prospect with a runaway victory in the 666bet Superlative Stakes at Newmarket.
It has already been a year to remember for the Malborough maestro, having saddled Night Of Glory to win the 2000 Guineas in his first season with a licence after taking over the reins from his father, Richard senior.
Ivawood shot towards the head of the betting for next May's Rowley Mile showpiece when winning the July Stakes earlier in the week and now Estidhkaar (15-8 favourite) has thrown his hat into the ring following a dominant display under Paul Hanagan

Kazeem all set for Newbury return.
http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...e&sub=&day=Mon
Quote:
Multiple Group One winner Al Kazeem is set to make his eagerly-anticipated return to action in the Doom Bar Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.
The six-year-old claimed the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh, the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot and Sandown's Coral-Eclipse during a stunning campaign in 2013, after which he was retired to the Royal Studs in Sandringham after being bought by the Queen.

Tarfasha team hopeful of home win.
http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...e&sub=&day=Fri
Quote:
Dermot Weld feels being on home soil gives Tarfasha a favourite's chance in the Darley Irish Oaks at the Curragh on Saturday.
The Investec Oaks runner-up heads the market for Classic glory after owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum decided not to run Epsom heroine Taghrooda and save her for the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Godolphin's St Leger winner Encke is poised to return to action in the Coutts Glorious Stakes at Goodwood after pleasing connections in a racecourse gallop after racing at Newmarket on Saturday.
Not seen since denying Camelot a place in history in 2012, he was suspended from racing for the majority of last year following the Mahmood Al Zarooni drugs scandal.

Gosden team among Leger entries.
http://www.attheraces.info/article.a...e&sub=&day=Wed
Quote:
John Gosden has a strong team among the 33 entries for this year's Ladbrokes St Leger as he goes in search of a fifth win in the Doncaster Classic on September 13.
Derby third Romsdal and King Edward VII victor Eagle Top, both possibles for Saturday's King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot, appear his main hopes.
They are supplemented by Forever Now, Marzocco and Cloudscape.

Oxfordshire trainer Eve Johnson Houghton is the latest trainer to come forward and reveal one of her horses has tested positive for morphine.
The Didcot handler has confirmed the three-year-old gelding Charlie Wells failed a drugs test after winning the 32Red Classified Stakes at Chepstow on June 23, after which he has been placed in two other races.
She is mystified as to where the contaminated food was contained and has had all of her string tested as a precaution.
