Re: Football Season 2014/15
No today was the appeal. There is no further right of appeal - it's done, three match ban beginning tomorrow.

I forgot to reply earlier, sorry Dad. Can't find anything about a loan fee from Everton, or West Brom before them, and I didn't think we got one anyway. You normally hear if one's involved. I don't really disagree with regards to what you said about the youth players. But I'd like to have some sort of age restriction on overseas youngsters coming in. That's another thing that restricts opportunities.

Lukaku's loans fee to Everton was around 3 million apparently

Gary Neville agrees with me
Quote:
Why should Diego Costa not be my role model? Growing up I was drawn to Mark Hughes, Bryan Robson, Norman Whiteside. As a Manchester United fan in the 1990s my hero would have been Roy Keane, not for his technical ability, over Ronaldo or Scholes, but for the impact his type of player has on the game-going fan, by showing that fight and passion are alive and well in the dressing room.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
What is being got at is the fight in the game cannot be diluted to a state that it will destroy the very game we all love. As an Arsenal fan for the past decade we've seen plenty of a lack of fight and its pathetic. Had the whole game been the same then the stadiums would have been empty. I don't agree with pure evil malicious acts but then I don't agree with a pathetic form of football!

Re: Football Season 2014/15
It wasn't thuggery though was it. I still think its unclear whether he actually meant it, at no point did he look down at where his leg was, his eyes were on the ball the entire time. I don't think you claim he went out to hurt the Liverpool player. Like Neville said in his piece, hes the type of player defenders hate to play against...what an asset that is for a team to have. Theres no team in the world that wouldn't put up with his occassional over aggression to have a player like him in their side.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
I think we've all seen a lot worse, but I understand why he was banned. Was amazed at how quick the appeal was held though. They ever been that quick before?. I know cards get rescinded quite quickly but this was different. The FA will continue to lack consistency though.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
It was probably The FA hitting back at Joses 'campaign against us' comments. There have been loads of cases where its taken days to process charges which leads to appeals allowing 'x' player to play the next game he should have been banned for.

Possibly, but imagine what he'll be like if they aren't this quick next time it happens

If someone was laid on the floor in front of them 99% of people would look down to ensure they did not step on that person, not step right on them as Costa did.
