I think you'll see it in the summer along with a few other hd channels, not a rumour just my thoughts.
Worth noting also on my samsung sattelite tv bt sports 3 seems to be testing as a channel is showing up btsport3.

Latest info we have from late April says that Nat Geo Wild HD is set to launch tomorrow.
We have try to get it 100% confirmed over the past week - with no luck.

I think the local channels could be quite good if they had more money to play with. A rubbish budget will lead to rubbish programming.
Perhaps the Government should regard the local franchise channels as public service broadcasting and divert some of the money currently going to the BBC.

Surely, given your stance, you mean make them streaming only, paid for by adverts or subscription?

They're already subsidised by the licence fee: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/our_wo...tribution.html

You moan about the licence fee and then want to waste some of it on a pointless lost cause

All I'm saying is that if you don't put the money into it, local TV will never work.
Anyway, I don't expect the licence fee to be around for very much longer, with the change of Government.
