Sky inceases there price Sept / Oct and it is only a couple of quid and to be quite honest, that is reasonable conisdering the amount of channel they supply.

If they put the price of their HD sub up then they have to give us more HD channels.

Re: Virgin media price increase
If they put the price up due to HD, then l would switch to Sky HD, as you get quite a lot of channel for the same price and that is £10..00 per month.

Virginmedia customers like to pay more. I believe sky are about to sack the multiroom-HD sub, so my sky package is about to drop by a few quid lol.

The surprising thing is that you were willing to pay £10.25 for more than one box. How did they ever justify that? And when are they going to drop the charge altogether?

I haven't seen any evidence that they are considering an HD charge Arthur. Where do you get that from?

Re: Virgin media price increase
Ok so the line rental may be going up a wee bit but maybe there will be more calls included in the package?

I hope so Stephen. Virgin Media will still be cheaper for me as a package but their phone (and BT's) rental is beginning to look overpriced. I hope now they have nearly enabled all exchanges for caller display that they will at least include that in the price.

Re: Virgin media price increase
VM and BT line rental will be the same after the increase I think.

Only if you pay monthly with BT if you pay a years line rental in advance its £10 a month clearly a saving.

I guess it would be a good idea for VM to do that as well but I don't think I would go for it.

Its good value if you combine it with BTs unlimited calling plan at £4.70 a month extra which includes 0845/0870 numbers as well as unlimited landline calls 24/7.

Yes those are also things they VM could/should adopt. I don't have a caller plan though. We just use our mobiles for most calls. I don't ring many 0870/0845 numbers but I always look to see if there is a geographical alternative first. It has to be said though that the telephone is the least attractive part of the VM package but that is where they make most of their money. Personally though I think they should have either froze their phone rental or included the things that BT do.

Assuming it hits everyone across the range Section 5 of the contract can be used to terminate the phone service...
The difficulty is for TV M+ users who have to have a phone line to get this service.
Must admit with the dire TV at the moment I am seriously considering cutting my losses, reverting to the free TV package and getting Broadband only.
SKY is looking more attractive as a prospect, daily... but their price hike is normally October...
|
same for me. I never use the tv and have barely used the phone (plus the phone is constantly dead). Its somewhat odd VM keep practically giving away their broadband but hike like crazy on a already uncompetitive phone service. Looking at my last bill £39.38, month before was £37.24. When I signed up was £34 after signup discounts. Checking the breakdown now if I can get to login.

Don't need a phoneline to get TV M+
