Re: [Merged] - Football talk
a good idea but the only real teams we would want added to the comp would be Celtic and Rangers.
Would even having them in make United, Arsenal etc field a stronger side in the hope they might get them in a later round.. i don't think so.
I think it would be a good idea to have a play-off betwen the English and Scottish champs each season. maybe even home and away

Re: [Merged] - Football talk
apparently Socrates has signed for some non-league club in yorkshire. He still has the beard and the long hair as well.
Not sure if he will actually play for them as he is 50 now !

Re: [Merged] Football talk
Kezman was hit by something from the crowd, apparently a bottle. Riot police are supposed to be moving in.

Can't find anything on the Beeb about it. Full match report on Chelsea mentioned no crowd trouble. Where did you hear that?

But the match ended on a sour note for the Serbia and Montenegro striker. who left the field with blood coming out of a head wound after appearing to have been struck by an object thrown from the crowd.
And trouble flared after the final whistle with riot police moving into a section of the ground occupied by West Ham fans.

Bang goes the 9-match unbeaten run, eh?
They'll be up to, er, 9th, if the three teams behind them win their games in hand. Evidently Mr. Barry hadn't heard that he was allowed to assist the United forward line in whatever manner he saw fit.
Soccernet sum it up better than I could:
"Ferguson's side have now drawn five times and lost twice in the Premiership - not the form of champions. "

Doesn't have half the ring of "United end Arsenal unbeaten run"
And going on their performance against Southampton today, defeat number two surely isn't far away.
