Here it is...

I want to say absolutely categorically that I did not intentionally put my foot down on Ricardo Carvalho.
"He slid in from behind me and unfortunately ended up in a positioning where my foot was inevitably going to end up as I kept my balance. That's all there was to it.
"When the referee produced the red card I was amazed - gobsmacked. I bear no ill feeling to Cristiano but am disappointed that he chose to get involved.
"I suppose I do though have to remember that on that particular occasion we were not team-mates

[Merged] Ronaldo
Was the happiest moment of my life. Still, cheering on France was a little odd!

Would have been funnier if they all voted for Walcott.

It's not going to work. FIFA decide who win, the voting is just for a shortlist.

I disagree - it has worked, Ronaldo is no longer in top place.
If FIFA even remotely consider giving the award to Ronaldo they'll do even more damage to the bad reputation of the game than they have already done throughout this World Cup.
At this rate it won't be a matter of who qualifies so much as who can be bothered to participate...

Top place doesn't matter, read the rules, the top three from the vote and then 3 other players chosen by FIFA form a short list from which a winner is selected. So just cause Ronaldo isn't top any more doesn't mean he won't win.

Pretty blatant - a public vote, but no matter what FIFA still get to select the top 3!
Laughable, because it only goes to confirm that FIFA is corrupt to the core, and that the 'right' result is entirely in their gift, and hence can be paid for - like everything else about this World Cup, it is quite plain to see that FIFA's decisions (even those pertaining to the rules and refereeing guidelines) are all about making money an very little to do with football.
It's a shame, but it was high time that (international) football was relegated compared to sports where sportsmanship, rather than gamesmanship, is considered the norm.
FIFA is becoming just like the monster that is FIA...

that's odd, ever since fifa put in those guidelines the football has been much better

i'm not sure what the problem is, FIFA have a better idea as to who was the best youngster than all the biased fans.
look at it this way:
118733 voted for leo messi - who didn't do much all tournament
46031 voted for rooney - who didn't do much all tournament and left in disgrace
19575 voted for some iranian player
4239 voted for guillermo ochoa - did he even play?
1838 voted for jansen for germany - did he even play?
1727 voted for the most overrated forward to ever play(ryan babel)
1588 voted for ustari - he didn't even play
464 voted for hedwig and the angry inch - he was crap
now would you say the fans had a better idea as to who was best?

You've obviously watching a different World Cup to me then.

In which case, why the pretence of a 'public vote'?
As it happens, I know this 'vote' is badly flawed, because people's predilection for voting for their 'favourite' rather than 'the best'.
