Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
my point in asking was because it, having Bolts ads feature would boost revenue or at least have some form of positive PR going on

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
How is the speed doubling going?
After all negativity when it was announced about how they would never stick to the dates it would be good if this time they are running on time. So how's it going??

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
Well, since we don't have the original (or the revised) national roll-out plan, it may be difficult to comment, except on area by area basis (where people had gone online and saw a date previously, which may now have changed).
Personally, my area (Leeds) originally stated "from July onwards" - it now states "between December 2012 and February 2013".
However, I took another option, and changed my previous package (which included 30Mb/s BB) to Premiere Collection (which has 60Mb/s), whilst saving over £11 per month.

Is that a 60/6 connection? Not bad with an £11 saving plus higher traffic management allowance as well.

No it's 60/3 at present. Upstream increases haven't started yet, only downstream
But it will be 60/6 by the time the upgrades are complete

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
someone I know on 100Mb has had a lot of dropouts recently and just had his modem reboot and when it come back it had a new config that shows the upstream as 16.25Mb *scratches forehead* I am starting to wonder if 120Mb will be 120/16

Virgin normally do some tests before any rollout to make sure things work, so it's possible

No. Amusing as in "get over it"
