Lets get it back on topic. What do people think of Realplayer 10 then? Is it avalible for mac as I use real on my powerbook to view BBC news reports. Is it avalible on mac?

I use both the real and quicktime alternative - i've not tried installing the 'proper' ones in a while - although my laptop came with real one installed in it.
I don't know if I really need to install realplayer 10 - as winamp and windows media player pretty much cover what I want. The real and qt alternative play my ram and mov files.

Oh and for your hate iTunes comment, you acctually used it? From your posts it seems you just hate apple for no real reason.

What the hell has a QT editing 'system' got to do with the free, PC hogging bag of sh*t that is the PC Quicktime client?

Strange how they release an "alternative" for it then .. perhaps they just coded that thanks to a lack of anything better to do .. yes, that must be it

Well I use quicktime for quicktime files and realplayer for real files and some for WMA thats all I do I just want to use the file and dont really care for diffrant standards. Would like a all-in-one but dont care I just let the programs do its work in the backround. I dont really care about agueing which is best.
Anyway I went to the reaplayerl site and the same mac version exists

Perhaps you could share your source of this information, Final Cut Pro != Quicktime, QT is merely one very small component of it.

Re: Realplayer 10 released
QuickTime itself, for me, is mediocre. I bought the real version and I'm happy enough with it. No nag screens, and it has some extra features. Would I jump up and down about it? No.
Real on the other hand, is so full of crap, I just can't bear to install it. Unless Real 10 is drastically different from the previous garbage, I won't install it.

Quite. Which is possibly why the EU didn't go for that as an acceptable solution.

It is ridiculous. You want to use laws to further your vendetta against Microsoft, not to bring "choices" to the consumer.
|
Vendetta? I have explained that I believe in using law, where appropriate, to secure long-term benefits for consumers. Despite laying this all out, in public, on more than one occasion, you still prefer to accuse me of having an ulterior motive that is utterly different to my stated position. You are accusing me of telling outright lies.

The consumer already have choices, and Microsoft is just making it incredibly easy for consumers. Something they have always done (and Linux has not), and now the Microsoft-wannabe's are all upset because they can't possibly create as good a product as Microsoft.

And finally, the proof that you are quite blind. It's Microsoft, so it must be the best? Sorry, I don't buy that.

Re: Realplayer 10 released
Do agree with previous points that RP sucks!
It also disregards my privacy settings too - I turn off automatic notification for 30 days and guess what when I open RP 8 next time on the next day, on day 29?
I get a bloody bar on the bottom of my RP and popups asking me to download the latest version on the player!
I get this nearly every time I open up my RP.

Re: Realplayer 10 released
The only reason I like it is because it lets me copy music from my pc to my net-MD without all that "check in/out" crap that comes with the poxy Sony software!
