Well they've got less than 3 days if they're sticking to having everyone upgraded by the end of summer.

I'm in the Wakefield region and am still awaiting news of an update to my broadband speed.

C'mon Virgin Media, pull your finger out, I was told by customer services that the Wakefield area would be one of the first to be upgraded (due to the regions large size).

Bloody liars...

Welcome, everyone, to the first day of Autumn. Let me assure you that Virgin Media will be announcing more dates throughout the summer for the remaining upgrades. Summer 2009, I mean.

To be fair, they DID announce more (but not enough) dates throughout the Summer just ended, but the most important date is end of this month, which they are still sticking to. They might just surprise us in the remaining 8 days and a bit...

Excellent news. I hope the remaining two areas TBC are done in the first couple of weeks of October and then the company can focus on something else .

Absolutely. I'd much rather have 3 HD channels in total than 10Mbs broadband but other customers will be more bothered. Round here there's a lot of aluminium in the ground that means a lot of people can get sub 10Mbs speeds on ADSL (even on 2+), there will be other ultra urban areas in a cabled area in a similar boat. For example I'm pretty close to the exchange but due to the aluminium I could only get 7Mbs. A mate gets only about 5Mbs but he's not cabled. A neighbouring exchange is so poor that it only has 2 LLU operators (1 until recently). Analogue is the biggie but that's not happening totally till 2010.

I really mean they can get on with 50Mbs so the CEO can stop blabbering on about broadband and how we're "bandwidth constrained" .
