Re: 50MB Broadband now just £18 per month

In that case it should be £62.50 - an extra £4.50

Re: 50MB Broadband now just £18 per month

I'm not at home so I can't check the details of the bill at the moment, but we got one yesterday - should we be paying £28/mo for the 50Mb broadband? We have XL tv, two V+ boxes, I believe either L or XL phone, and XXL broadband. I notice £45 for the XXL but do they charge this then discount £17? I can't remembering seeing this discount and I will check the bill when I get home but I thought I'd post and ask in the mean time! We already have had to ring them up twice to sort out the fact we were paying £52 for it when they told us we shouldn't be, so it wouldn't surprise me if I have to ring again. Our bill hasn't gone down - We're still paying about £80 a month (this includes about a fiver's worth of phone calls though)

Everyone should be paying that after discounts of some sort

XXL will always show on the bill as £45

Right, will double check tonight, cheers. I glanced at it quickly and noticed the £45, that's all

Re: 50MB Broadband now just £18 per month

Hi

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. My August bill had the following entries (I have XL TV, XL phone, XL Broadband and am out of contract):

Telephone Line Rental 05 September - 04 October £11.00
Talk Unlimited 05 September - 04 October £7.95
X L Triple Saving 05 September - 04 October £-20.95
TV Size: X L 05 September - 04 October £23.00
V+ Box 05 September - 04 October £0.00
Broadband Size: X L 05 September - 04 October £37.00

Can someone advise if I am on the correct rates for XL (I understand that some rates changed from 1st September but my bill is the same as it has been for the past few months).

If I were to change to XXL Broadband, what would this cost me as an existing customer?

If there were a better deal for a new customer (e.g. Netbook buy-out £50 & other offers), what is the minimum gap allowed by Virgin Media for disconnecting/reconnecting as a new customer? I asked Customer Services to consider me for the £50 buy-out which was being offered to new customers, when they declined I said I could disconnect & reconnect but was advised by Customer services that this gap would have to be 6 months??

Thanks!

An extra £8 a month which is the same as everyone else + £50 setup/activation

The £50 buy out has been stopped for everyone. All customers now have to take out Mobile Broadband to get the netbook

The monthly price for your services is the same as it is for a new customer

Re: 50MB Broadband now just £18 per month

Right my bill has the following "main services" listed (for 17th sept to 16th oct - god knows why they do it like this, everything about the billing is bloody confusing) as follows:

Telephone line rental: £11
Talk Unlimited: £7.95
Phone, TV & Broadband saving: -£20.95
TV size: XL: £23
1 additional V+ box: £15
V+ box: £0
Add set box(es) discount: -£10
XXL 50MB Broadband: £45
paper Bill charge: £1.25

Total: £72.25

Does this look right?

I'm getting bloody sick of having to keep ringing them to get bills corrected/clarified, they don't half make it complicated

Re: 50MB Broadband now just £18 per month

Yes it's right.

XL tv, XL phone and XL broadband is £58 as per the website

+ £8 for XXL as per the website

+ £5 for extra STB

+ £1.25 for Paper bill

= £72.25

Cheers Ben, that makes sense. Why VM have to make it so complicated is beyond me. You're about the only bugger who seems to understand fully

Re: 50MB Broadband now just £18 per month

I have been with virgin for a couple of years now and only have their internet service.

I am on 20mbit XL and am interested in 50mbit XXL when I log into 'my virgin media' of virgin's site and look in the upgrading area it says this:

Upgrade to Virgin Media broadband: Size XXL £52 per month subscription

£52 a month?! Is that correct? I know the more things you have from Virgin the cheaper overall the monthly bill will be.. but still! I thought they were slashing prices starting in September?

No it's not correct. As I've said several times - do NOT use Selfcare. It's broken.
