Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
Since upgrade in winnersh (Reading) always getting 10mb. Although pings in COD4 seem 10ms higher so now at 65ms and I never start before anyone else like i did.
Overall I'm happy.

Cheerz 4 the welcome joglynne
I just wish we could get abit more info from Virgin.... Its the fact we have been completely left in the dark that annoys me & countless others.
Will this upgrade be done by Late September????... even if it isn't id still rather know than be kept in the dark.
Simon

Agreed, it's the waiting and not knowing what's happening that makes people frustrated. All you can do is check that your modem is capable of handling 10Mb then reboot it occasionally to check if you have been upgraded
To checkout your modem go the bottom of the following page and enter your BB size. I'm sorry I can't give a more direct link.

That link can tell porkies, because we do get people ringing in and it has said their modem is fine for the speed they are on and we have had to replace said modem.
So if unsure post what model you have and someone will advise you if its OK for the speed you are paying for.
In most cases it will be OK.

Cheers whydoIneedatech
An example of my naiveté....believing something written on VM's own web site.

I have had the type of call I mentioned above due to its slight failings.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
Still no update since 12 August ............ and what does TBC actually mean (sometime in the future)?
Even BT are able to give RFS (estimated ready for service) dates for exchange upgrades, come on VM - when will the remaining areas be upgraded ??

TBC = To Be Confirmed, which (and the point has been made before) is an odd thing to say, given that no particular date was ever specified in the first place. By rights, all of the TBCs should now say 'September 2008', as VM are still stating in their small print that the upgrade rollout is due to complete this month.
And who is to say it won't be?

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
The page has been updated. 9th September.
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html.../schedule.html
So Newton Abbot, Liverpool, Wolverhampton, Birmingham Perry Bar and Croydon. TBC for everyone else. Absolutely typical. Only hope is they are upgrading half of the areas by numerical group in September so maybe the other 4 (some very large areas) will follow in October or November.

Just noticed that myself, I'm glad Liverpool finally made an apperance, I was starting to think we'd never be listed

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
Finally a date for our upgrade!
Looking forward to some fast speeds, although from the sounds of it I'm actually going to end up worse off!
