Looks like the TIVO is safe in VM's hands for the time being!

Virgin Media TiVo subscribers get dedicated Eurosport app in time for French Open tennis.

Quote:
Virgin Media has partnered with Eurosport to offer a dedicated application for sports content from the broadcaster on its TiVo platform.
The app is available on UK TiVo boxes from today and it provides access to streamed video content from the Eurosport UK website. That includes news and interviews across many sports, including football, rugby, tennis, cycling and motorsports.
In addition, Eurosport will be showing live tennis matches from the French Open from this weekend and the application will give access to highlight clips on demand.
To access the app, customers can press the red button when on British Eurosport or British Eurosport 2 channels. Alternatively, it can be found in the Apps and Games section of the main menu. Virgin Media TiVo customers on the M+ TV package or above get the Eurosport channels as part of their monthly payment.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Does anyone have problems with glitches when recording consecutive programmes on the same channel?
On Sundays I have The Simpsons and Futurama both set to record from Sky 1 HD, but every week 4 minutes into Futurama the screen goes momentarily blank and sometimes it jumps back to the beginning of the show. If you go to the point where it happened in the recording you can see the recorded stream is momentarily broken up too. Nobody else is getting this?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
It's a known issue with back to back recordings. I believe TiVo have fixed it in the US, so it should be in the next update for the Virgin Media TiVo, whenever that is.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Here we have the World Cup starting today and the BBC can't even do that properly on their BBC sports app as there is no run down of each group and whos in it and there are no fixtures details that detail every group match and what time it is kicking off each day.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
My little grandson thought it was great to play football with the hand set, now it has some loose screws or something inside rattling - it still works but some of the buttons are wearing off. what is the procedure to obtain a new handset for the TiVo.

Call 150 from your landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other line and press option 2 for TV faults

Its best to phone up customer services and state that the lettering on your remote control is wearing off and you might get another one for free but if you don't get another one for free then you will have to fork out around £25 for a new one Richard.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Depends on whether this is the first replacement or not. I called and they said because I had never asked for one before I could have it free but in future it would cost £10.

Indeed. In the meantime, you could move one of the series to the SD channel (or +1) to prevent it happening.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Surely it is about time TiVo had a firmware update? My brother in laws sky+ box walks rings round Virgin's. So much faster, it really needs a speed boost an revamp of the interface. I actually don't bother using any on demand as it is painfully slow.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Is there any way to change how channels are categorized? For example, I know itv4 tries to be all things to all men, but if I change my epg view to sport I'd quite like it there alongside the actual sport channels, even though I know it isn't one.
