Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
bad result for Palace Luton have now done the double over us.. poor performance too from the reports.. after getting into the play-off places we just can't get any consistancy in our performances.. AJ came onnear the end sp hopefully we will do better next week

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
did anyone see that fergie has mentioned he won't be going for ballack and that he has a top priority signing for july that he has discussed with club and is cup tied in CL at moment and club isnt willing to sell until summer, anyone with any thoughts on mystery star?

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
yeah read about the Ballack stuff.. what that actually means is that we lost out to Real Madrid and so Fergie is trying to save face.. Ballack may be similar to Scholes but the difference is that one is still performing and will do for a few more years and the other one hasn't performed consistantly for the past 2 seasons
after seeing the game we need a new keeper.. not been impressed with VDS so far.. he never comes when he should.. punches too often when he can catch the ball instead and could have done more for the goal on Sunday
seeing as we might not be in CL by Xmas getting someone who is cup tied might not be a problem
we have been linked with someone from Benfica, Fernandes i think, so could be him. not sure who else it could be

There's no point in any of your teams even bothering anymore
2 wins out of 2 for Villa just means that we'll have the league sorted by the end of January

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
tellin you now, keeper is least of our problems, not VDS fault the defence was carved to pieces for first goal! and fact that fergie has conceded to madrid for ballack shows we cant attract the big names, so who do we bring in, iam not confident on that fact fergie said to press "iam lookin to bring in players in january to make up the numbers" god what kinda players will that be then, more fletchers???

Re: [Merged] The Football Thread 2005/2006 Season
saw Sheff Unit at the Palace game.. we ws robbed that day as there was no way of telling the ball had crossed the line but the linesman who was 45 yards away and looking through players said it was.. i had a view higher up in the stands and couldn't tel so how could he.. they didn't look that much better than us that day but it does look like they will walk the league..
fair play to them they've invested well in the squad and have a good team playing well..
be interesting to see what clubs have the resources to bring players in in Jan

Nah, they are not that good, watched it tonight, only downside is that I will be getting a gloating PM from Donnies fan, Proppinupthebar over at Chetnet. It was bad enough when Doncaster beat the Latics at Boundary Park a couple of weeks ago.

Only on the way to set fire to Villa Park
Can somebody explain why, when the two strikers you've got on aren't scoring, you shift to 4-3-3? We should have taken one of them off and stuct at 4-4-2, seeing most of our goals come from midfield anyway
Having said that, congrats to Donnie 'cos they played us off the park, and Thorntons goal was an absolute screamer (lucky deflection aside ). I hope that they get a good draw that gets them some cash now

Missed the match... quite glad I did now.
