Very low crime rate indeed, but then the police do walk round with uzi's (which we never minded as we knew they were there to protect us law abiding civilians)
Course the benifit they have is a strong religious background which is more of a deterant than any state punishment.

If someone murdered a loved one of mine, I don't think I'd feel any different if they too were killed.

What about getting a lengthy sentence? If I see someone getting 10 years for armed robbery I also get satisfaction because the punishment is just. Simliar to the execution. In fact, it is a common feeling among people.

I don't think any human has the right to decide when another human dies, that goes for whoever perpetrated the crime and whoever is deciding punishment for it. As for your man jerrek deriving satisfaction from someone elses death ... I think he either needs a little psychological help or to move down to the deep south 'bible belt' where people will welcome his views.

edit: And, whoever called him a 'hypocritical' christian was actually pretty much on the mark, if he'd like to think back to a private message he sent me a while back (which I'm not going to post) then I'm pretty sure he'll agree.
