Reloading Windows 2000 169 IP fix

Hi all

I have a PC (Windows 2000) which has all sort of problems and is currently stuck on IP address 169 which it will not release due to corrupt files. How easy is it to reload windows 2000 for a fix and if so how is it done ?

Many thanks

Mike

Re: Reloading Windows 2000 169 IP fix

To reset your TCP/IP stack, try typing this in a command window or the run box:

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

I know it works for XP, so may work for 2000. Might save you having to repair/reinstall...

Repairs the settings for your connection, if that's the problem you should be back to normal after a reboot.
