Checkyour bills

Just visited my mum who was reading her ntl bill, seems she has a additional stb and did not know about it. When we rang NTl they said the charge started approx 1 year ago when she had broadband installed. NTL owe her approx £85.00, Said they could not send a cheque out unless she cancelled, so i told her to cancel, quoting Freeview, Sky and other broadband deals. Unfortunately she got cut off twice, Lets see what they do......

Re: Checkyour bills

Finally got through to retentions, they told her to go to the bank and ask them to complete a indemnity form against ntl for the ammount owing. By doing this she should have the money within the next 7 days. NTL also offered a £10.00 credit to pay for fuel and car parking. Managed to get Talk unlimited evenings and weekends instead of the £10.00 that they offered.

Re: Checkyour bills

NTL did something similar with us - we went to the bank and they didn't want to know, they said it was too small an amount (it was about £40) for them to get involved....

Not true, I put in an indemnity claim for £19 from O2, they said it can take upto 28 days....took 22. If a direct debit is for the wrong amount or the incorrect date, your bank should do an indemnity claim, if not they are being lazy.

Last year NTL started chargeing for 3 call Reminder even though I have only one NTL phone line, it took 4 phone calls to NTL to get it sorted out!

I now check all of NTL's statements VERY carefully and I stongly advise all others to do the same
