New Fat Cable

ntl contractors are busy laying a new fat cable down the main road round the corner from me (OL8), something is on the move

The other week BT was laying new cable down the same stretch, it wasn't as fat as the ntl one though .........is a war about to break out, or is it a case of Monkey see, Monkey do.

Re: New Fat Cable

Maybe there was a new pipe or something to run cables through put in, so they are putting dark fibre in. Or maybe, if you dont allready have it they are doing something to do with on demand.

Re: New Fat Cable

I was hoping that the work was a precursor to faster speeds, dream on...

I have noticed locally that most people are switching to ntl, sky used to be the popular choice.
ntl have had a permanent sales desk in the town centre for ages so they must be doing well signing up new customers.

They look dummies in Oldham, the only people who seem to approach them is young kids, it's funny watching them give the kids the big sell

Don't think most people in Oldham will be interested in anything other than Cable TV, the word luddite comes to mind.

Mine has been very good, I got on the 10Mb early and it has been better than I ever expected, just as well as my previous ADSL line had a max of 512Kb and BT didn't want to know.
