Scart Connectivity

I have connected up the following devices:

TV - VCR - STB - DVD-R - DVD Player (not necessarily connected in this order) This all works well following the diagram on this following site and section 11:

http://www.flattelly.co.uk/shop/connectivity.php - Section 11

Although this works fine I am unable, with this setup, to record on the video the standard terrestial channels whilst recording on my DVD recorder from the STB - NTL. I have to have the DVD recorder off to record from Video and the video off to record from STB on teh DVD recorder.

Am I doing something stupid here - any help would be great

Cheers

Tony

Re: Scart Connectivity

Hi
From what you are saying the scarts on the on the DVD and the Vcr are over riding the connections when they are switched on .
That is usually down to the Pin 8 connection on the scart lead.

Re: Scart Connectivity

Check which way round you have got the connections on the STB. The DVDR should be plugged to the TV socket, and the VCR should be plugged into the VCR socket.

Do you have ntl or Telewest? You mention ntl but posted in the Telewest forum. If it's ntl, there is a option in the settings menu called "SCART AV control". Try turning it off.
