Unhappy NTL cable problem!!!

Only joined the forum today so hope anyone can help me out. I've got NTL cable tv and for some reason got an error message on the front of the box that reads "ld:20" this has been on since Monday evening. Phoned up NTL yesterday and it said that therewas a problem in my area (NG16). I thought fair enough at least they are being honest. Phoned later in the day and thre was no mentionof any problems in my area only in NG13 now but my samsung box still displaying same message. Phoned through to customer services and they told me a technicion needs to come out but that won't be till FRIDAY!!!!!!. England match on Thursday i need to watch, this is my only source for tv as indoor areials don't work. Please can someone help me out. Thanks in advance.

Re: NTL cable problem!!!

I hate to say it, but if ntl can't get an engineer out until Friday there's probably not much you can do except go to a local pub/friend's house.

Yeah its looking bleak for me i think but hey no harm in trying. Noticed that there where alledgely some NTL employees on the site so was just thinking they might be able to give me a few tips. But the pubs looking like a good choice at the min.

yeah they kind of said that on the phone at CS. there had been a problem in the NG16 area but that had been given the all clear. I did have a very brief power cut b4 it went and the box froze up could that be something to do with it???

Re: NTL cable problem!!!

hello you experienced people just thought i'd let you know that the ntl engineer came friday afternoon. the box i had a silver samsung thing had knackered peobably due to a power surge or something. The nice NTL man replaced it with a lovely new smaller samsung well impressed.

Thanks for the tips from people who gave them.
