According to Add/Remove programs, Firefox is 23.5Gb!

Just checked my FF in add remove, it's only 16.9mb and used rarely.

This happens because of the dodgy algorithm MS uses to guess the size to display in Add/Remove Programs for a particular program. More info at http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/ar...09/178342.aspx

Mines only 18.98MB seems odd that FF can take up 23.5GB of space on a PC.

According to my add/remove it's 19.45mb.But I use mine al the time. Only use IE very rarely.

Someone on the Firefox forum reported a file size of 963Mb in Add/Remove Programs. 23.5Gb certainly tops that! In any event, it seems the reason for the wildly wrong figure is given in the page that Strzelecki linked to. It's not an actual file size, just an error in the way the Windows is reporting it. If you find that worrying, maybe reinstalling Firefox would cure the problem. Anything in the Registry that lets Windows know the size of the Firefox installation would then get written again.

If you go to the Firefox folder in Windows Explorer and right-click on it, maybe the real file size will be shown in 'Properties'. For a true estimate of how much disk space Firefox is taking up, perhaps the Profiles folder should also be added to that figure.
