Ah well now then that means there is BB,World Cup,cricket,Wimbledon and Grand Prix to avoid.Anything else I've missed?

I'm thinking one would have to reside on Mars to avoid any of them.

Incog.. the first thing that came to mind when reading your thread title was 'make snacks for the football watchers for half time'.

but in reality the best thing to do is find the local pub that proudly pronounces no football, and meet lots of like minded people..

Not a big drinker...In fact I'm not that fond of pubs..I hate the prices and sit there thinking how much cheaper it would be to drink at home.I get bored too easily as well and keep wishing I had a book or summat to keep me busy..Everyone else is getting bladdered and I'm sober...well more sober than them.

Re: So what shall we do instead of watching the World Cup?

Well, I'm having a couple of weeks over in the USA. Flight bookings have reduced due to people staying at home to watch the World Cup with the Robin Hood Airport having plenty of space on long haul flights which have only just started being provided from there.
