errrr! What sunshine?Have you taken a peek at the weather lately?Plus as we are in the middle of an official drought you can bet all your winnings that it will be raining most of the summer.

Re: So what shall we do instead of watching the World Cup?

lol - fair play... and I agree about the violence - it is a shame that the game (restate 'GAME') is ruined by a few idiotic hooligans who really DON'T have anything else at all in their lives to do than spoil things for others.

That's why I follow Holland, not England, as the English are pretty renowned for there 'supporters' antics. I made the choice to be true to my mothers side of the family (Holland), even though I was born in England. The associasion to England when it comes to football is somewhat shameful in my opinion.

Re: So what shall we do instead of watching the World Cup?

The Dutch are hardly angels.

Wasn't there a major riot last year between Feyenoord and Ajax fans?

And when Van Persie was at Feyenoord was he not assulted by hooligans who invaded a game between Young Ajax and Young Feyenoord?

Re: So what shall we do instead of watching the World Cup?

let's be honest - all countries have their troubles, but the dutch are no where near as known for it as the English. Anyway - i'm not going to start a debate about that - that's going off the thread.

i still want Holland to win - now back to you guys to NOT talk about football....

If it is wet then a movie marathon. If it is dry hopefully socialising with the neighbours. No glued to the TV for BB or Footie for me.

Re: So what shall we do instead of watching the World Cup?

I still have queued to watch

'24' series 1 - not seen any of them

'Bugs' - all 40 episodes - seen some of them

'Hex' - series 2 - seen all before, but better on DVD

'Dune' - the 'mini-series' one with William Hurt - as above for Hex

- plenty to do

football...... over 90 mins of some guys kicking a dead cows skin pumped full of air around a big ass field.

Nah, give it a miss thanks.

Fortunatly, I work in a London Data Center & there are no TV's or radios on-site, so no world cup for me

Oh, a little off topic but..... you know all those england flags people have poking out of a closed car window?
They are responsible for the UK burning an extra NINETEEN TONNES of petrolium.

nice.

Yes England has it's thugs, but so do other countries, Holland as well. I don't think that a riot has lasted for 3 days over here.

All football fans are tarred with the same brush...

I'm with Incognitas. I'm the only non-fan at my place of work, and you have no idea how irritating it is to hear conversation about virtually nothing else. I almost wish they'd talk about Big Brother instead. Almost.

Re: So what shall we do instead of watching the World Cup?

Hey let's take the talk about footy hooligans elsewhere please. I'd rather not think about them this summer.

I think I'm going to learn how to use some of the software that I've not yet really got to grips with.I need to get a book first though.
