hotmail.co.uk and the name of your dreams
If you're fed up with being fred9999, now is your chance to get the name you've always wanted. Over the past 2 days, I've set up 2 accounts with the number-free names that I wanted.
Of course, if you're called John Smith . . .

Re: hotmail.co.uk and the name of your dreams
.co.uk names have been around a while but I think a lot of people kept their .com addresses rather than change and rely on all their mates to remember to use the right address. I changed mine over to .co.uk when they first released so I had/ have my name with .com and .co.uk now lol.

Re: hotmail.co.uk and the name of your dreams
I got my .co.uk name as soon as they became available simply managed to get "zeph" which was nice, all I did then was export my old contacts list from my other account and import it on the new one.

I am playing around with the new Beta Live hotmail thingy. It isn't as nice in my opinion, but it does come with 2gb of storage, which nicely lies next to GMail and Yahoo to give me quite a sizeable storage space.

Re: hotmail.co.uk and the name of your dreams
Yahoo's new beta mail is quite good....I don't mind the new Hotmail, but it's OK due to the extra space they've given me...handy for all that spam!

Re: hotmail.co.uk and the name of your dreams
Is there any advantage of using .co.uk instead of .com? My main account is a name with no numbers at .com (I've had it for about ten years). Is there any reason to switch?

Re: hotmail.co.uk and the name of your dreams
I suppose it's nice to have your .com name and the co.uk one the same to save any confusion if someone forgets your exact email address!
