No the reason some of them don't want to give out their surnames is a few of them have been the victim of abuse and threats from customers. When a company has an e-mail policy of firstname.lastname@ntl.com it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out someones e-mail address.

Also it isn't unknown for customers to appear at reception and ask to speak to a specific member of staff.

If you ask for an extension to specifically identify someone then 99% of the time you will receive it.

I've listened into literally hundreds of Ntl CS calls and could count on 1 hand the number of times that CSR's have refused to give any contact details. On all those occasions the CSR's no longer work for the company.

Just because someone gives a first name only doesn't mean they are crap at their job. How much more nonsense are you going to come out with?

What rot! I would never give my surname out over the phone, purely because there's always a risk that the numpty on the other end will just show up where I work if he thinks I've given him the bums-rush (not that I work for ntl, by the way).

If you think someone who has dealt with your account was crap, and you report it to NTL, NTL don't need their first name, surname or extension number. All they need is your account number.

There will be a record on the account.

Boy your good your very good. Thats some ability being able to workout how good someone is at there job when you have not even met them. You should go into business as a tarot reader or fortune teller.

But what shocks me the most is how long trolls last on the forum.

or it's because they dont want to be attacked/hounded by the small proportion of nutter customers who get your surname and then seek you out because you said something to annoy them. stop these sweeping generalisations. most if not all the NTL staff I've dealt with have been professional and are humans and deserve better than to be portrayed the way you are implying.

Nice

Fair's fair though, I've had some pretty good calls to ntl, and the call answering time is so much faster than it used to be. I really hope though that those who have not had good service in the past see things improve for the good now that its a combined company.

If you change to one of these proxys it should work but you might have to try a few different ones before it does though.I once had 3 Megaupload,Rapidshare files downloading at the same time after changing the proxys.
