Re: Private details with Domain Search

.uk domains can be hidden, or you could ask your registrar if they would be happy to have the domain registered to their address but in your name..... Thats how we tend to do it at I-Web

If you have recieved a letter confirming you domain name registration from Nominet, there will be a security code on and a web address that takes you to Registrants Online. (assuming it was registered through Nominet)
http://www.nominet.org.uk/registrant...etails/online/

Here you have the chance to 'Opt Out' of having your address not shown when you do an IP lookup. You can do it with .uk and .com providing it is registered as a personal site and not a business.

Thanks for the screenshot, I didn't have my Security Codes handy at the time so just put the link in. You can also download your Certificate as well.

Re: Private details with Domain Search

Just bear in mind that entering blatently false information is considered illegal (certainly for .com's not 100% sure about .co...) and if you are caught, they can take the domain name away from you...

If your name and address comes up when you do a domain lookup, it looks as though it is registered in your name and you will get a letter from Nominet, but it can take a long time for it to come.
I waited almost 6 months before 1 of mine came. Then you can go for the 'Optout'

Re: Private details with Domain Search

I wasnt aware that you could opt out complete on .gTLDs (.com .net etc.)

Have things changed??? I knew you could opt out if your domain was a .uk providing you were an individual and not a business....
