And I'm now on 10mb, but even before the upgrade I found the 3mb was doing less than 2mb at peak times, but after 12am and before 3PM my best speed has been 7mb, could this be down to the 120 modem? also has "ntlhm120_ntl0002.cpr"

Right Noob At Work Here So Bare With Me !

I have a pc and a laptop pc doesnt have an ethernet card laptop does.
Im currently on ntl home 100 ambit modem not getting full 10 meg speeds when config file has been upgraded etc.

If i buy a router is it possible i can have it usb in the pc and ethernet in the laptop or usb as both connections and if that works should i see a better connection speed as i wouldnt be using the modem anymore.

NTL 120 home - new config file, never seen it much higher than 7.00MBps so will be downgrading asap when the new unlimited tiers start as i'm not paying for a upto service because that just passes the buck, why should i pay the same as someone on 10meg if i'm on 6meg, not on really
