Re: need MAC cloning help!
Hi Clanta,
I would contact Actiontec support directly: http://www.actiontec.com/support/support_contact.html
Please do not open any more threads or add new posts to old threads on this subject, 1 thread is enough to get your problem noticed.

Re: need MAC cloning help!
Can you access other devices on your network by 192.168.0.2/3/4/5 etc?

Re: need MAC cloning help!
nope...
a friend told me that the webinterface was deleted (somehow) from flash memory.
Ping works and telnet too, for 192.168.0.1. I can acces with telnet the router menu (in comand prompt mode), but I don't know the commands for MAC cloning...

What firewalls do you have on your PC / network?

Re: need MAC cloning help!
If you've lost the web interface, have you tried a firmware upgrade to try restoring it?
If you can telnet, can you also telnet to port 80, eg
telnet 192.168.0.1 80
to prove there's no web server running.
I doubt the command mode options are documented anywhere outside Actiontec!

Re: need MAC cloning help!
I have no firewall... my ISP set the network that only my computer MAC can exit to Internet.
I tried to connect a laptop, but it doesn't work!
For this thing there is "MAC cloning" option in router settings, but I cannot acces his web interface.
The only way I can acces the router menu is telnet mode, but here I don't know what to do. There are some commands, syntax, etc. to setup the router, and I'm sure it can be configured. I don't know how, that why I asked you.

Re: need MAC cloning help!
you cant have two machines having the same MAC address trying to connect to the router.
I think you mean that there is a permitted MAC address list in the router and that you need to add another entry to

Re: need MAC cloning help!
MAC address cloning feature is designed for ISPs that require MAC authentication.
Simply you determine the computer MAC address and than you put it in the "user select WAN MAC adress" text boxes in the "MAC address cloning" screen.
..Pfff... oh my god, please, I'm trying to find how to make this in telnet mode, don't ask me colateral things...
Thanks anyway... I'm sorry, but I'm very upset, I have no Internet acces for 2 days...

Re: need MAC cloning help!
Ok, was this router supplied by your ISP (and who is your ISP)? If so, have they nobbled the WebAdmin for a reason - they don't want you to fiddle with it? Do their T&C's only allow a single machine?
Are you referring to the MAC address filter for the wireless authorisation - this page suggests this router doesn't support MAC address filtering.
If the router is your own and doesn't work correctly, I would either return/RMA it or buy a cheap router to replace it.

Re: need MAC cloning help!
Just had another think about this.
Is you router connected to an NTL STB which needs to have each connected MAC address registered? If so, this page tells you how to register the routers own MAC with the STB, therefore removing the need to clone your PC's MAC on to the external WAN port.

Re: need MAC cloning help!
Good people... I CANNOT ACCES http://192.168.0.1 !!!
...so, I CANNOT clone PC's MAC address into the MAC address of the WAN port.
I think I'm very clear in this problem...
...and by the way, I'm at work not at home where indeed I have no Internet acces for 2 days...
