Presently about 50% of requests for new pages are getting page not found.

It was about 30% this afternoon.

Have you tried specifying a different proxy?

Re: Lots of Page not found today

Really it's a case of try them till you find one that works for you. If you are running firefox there is a usefull proxy switch extension that lets you build a list to try. It can be trial and error finding one that works perfectly for your area if your local proxy has a problem.

Cheers Paul - I use that extension at work, but didn't hink of using it here - will give it a go (I'm running with Belfast at the moment which is an improvement over Colchester despite the distance)

Re: Lots of Page not found today

I'm not using a proxy and my speeds/connection are fine. Just tried using one of the Colchester proxies and that was fine too.

I'm getting anywhere between 30 and 60% packet loss using Colchester - and I'm yet to find a rock solid cache that I can use.

I see on the ntl status page that there's been some planned mainentance to upgrade their network which started a week ago involving outages, rebalancing and optimisation so I guess that may have gone a bit tits up and caused a temporary network downgrade....
