I think the link you want once in is operational configuration something like that
Should see upstream and downstream of 10meg and up 512k
Hope this helps.

Their wrong, try again and again till you get a decent employee, else wait till December till it's done automatically. Tell them to read their email they got and it says if a 3mb customer wants 10mb then they HAVE to do it. Ask to speak to their team leader/manager or failing that speak to retentions. You can get it, just some people didn't read their instructions properly from the people above.

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
I just spoke with an Engineer on the street (good timing) and asked him a few things about this upgrade.
The most important was the STB Connection users. He said they would all need to be changed to a SACM.

Try again is all I can say. It took me two attempts to get (hopefully) the upgrade.

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
Hmmm
Interesting. I have the following on a NTL 100 silver modem:
*********************
Network Access : Enabled
Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000 bps
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 512000 bps
Maximum Number of CPEs : 1
Software Upgrade File Name : ntlhm100_ntl0001.cpr
Software Upgrade AdminStatus : allowProvisioningUpgrade
Software Upgrade OperStatus : completeFromProvisioning
******************
However, no change what so ever in speed. I was on 3Mbit - if anything its slightly worse. Reported this to faults who ran some tests but could not find a problem. Could be a general network problem I guess but I can not even get Microsoft downloads to go any faster than before.
It does make me wonder if the 'software' side of things at the modem are being upgraded, but if the 'area hardware / software' is not up to scratch then it will not work. Its a bit like installing a larger water main pipe into your home - but still only having the same amount of water flowing in (perhaps)..

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)
Just use a little bit of commonsense and things may be a little clearer.
NTL could either upgrade everyones speed at the same time or they could stagger the implementation over a lengthy period.
If they upgraded everyone at the same time there would be massive problems everywhere and the telephone systems would go into meltdown. There can be many reasons why some areas and individual customers may not be ready for increased speeds to be implemented. Just stop and think what most people would be doing if it was announced that everyone would have the new speeds at precisely 10:00 am on Tuesday 8th November. Everyone doing speed checks to make sure that they had got the full 10 Mbps and finding they weren't even getting dial-up speeds.
Because the speed increases are being phased in over a period of time it is impossible for NTL to send each CSR an email giving details of each and every circumstance that is possible with the upgrades. Some areas may be able to get the upgrades, some won't. In the areas where the upgrades are available some customers may be able to get the upgrades, some won't for a variety of reasons.
When a customer calls CS the agent may try to upgrade them but the system may not let them do the upgrade. If an agent gets a couple of situations like that they may think that the same situation will exist for all callers and wrongly advise further callers that they cannot be upgraded. No CSR is going to have the full story with all its if's and but's the very second that they start work on the first day that the new speeds are available. You will therefore get the situation where you call several times and get a different story each time.
