Or did they?
I upgraded from 2Mb to 3Mb a couple of weeks ago because of this statement from ntl:-

"The first home surfers in the UK to enjoy speeds of up to 10Mb will be ntlââ‚Âà ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s current 3Mb Broadband customers"

Taken from here:-

Now it seems like it is not the current 3Mb customers, but only new 3Mb customers (whether they are new to ntl or current customers who have upgraded) who can currently get 10Mb.

Wrong - they did tell us they were upgrading to 10 meg

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)

ok...

hands up who were on 3MB on 08 August 2005??

perhaps people who haven't been upgraded to 10MB have upgraded to 3MB after NTL's announcement? Cruel tactics I know but fair...

My point exactly. It states quote:

Quote:
"The first home surfers in the UK to enjoy speeds of up to 10Mb will be ntlââ‚Âà ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s current 3Mb Broadband customers"
......not:

Quote:
"The first home surfers in the UK to enjoy speeds of up to 10Mb will be those customers who choose to upgrade to the 3Mb Broadband Tier from now."
See what I mean?

Not the case. The facts are 2Mbit and down are able to upgrade via the manual way (I dont think this was intended imho)

This looks very tempting, but I can't afford it.

Re: *All* ntl 10meg Discussion (part 2)

AND another thing....

NTL appear to be uprading users to 10 meg without publishing any t's and c's about the service. For instance - is 10 meg unlimited? Until there is official word from NTL on this anyone who is on 10 meg cant be expected to guess at what their cap is!

Honestly - I'd like to say I expect better from NTL - but having been with them since 2000 I know this idiocy is about par for the course.

Did they upgrade you automatically to 10Mb or did you go through the manual upgrade?
